It is my privilege as the pastor of St. Edward the Confessor to welcome you to our website and to our parish community.
Each week, in our parish bulletin, we include the following statement that captures beautifully our hope that you will make your spiritual home with us. “You may have come as a stranger to us, yet you are known to Our Lord, Jesus Christ. In His name we pray you will find peace, hospitality and friendship with us.”
Our parish was founded in 1946. We are now in our third church building which was built with an eye to the future growth of our congregation. We’re delighted that you are a part of our growing family.
Above all, I hope you will be a faithful participant in the worship of our parish and, truly, involved in the ministries, mission, programs and organizations of St. Edward’s. I believe all the above are done very well thanks to the many gifts of parishioners’ time, talent and treasure. With your help and participation, we can make the life of the parish even better.
Following in the footsteps of our patron saint, Edward the Confessor (Feast day 13 October), our parish has been faithful to the church’s mission of living out “a preferential option for the poor.” I hope you’ll become a part of our outreach to those in need.
Our website should help you to find out all you need to know about the parish and how to become involved. Of course, you are always welcome to contact me personally with concerns at the church office (740-587-3254).
May good St. Edward bless you, yours and our parish.
